Name: Security perception in the context of work and personality

The project is aimed at the research of personal aspects of the safety perception and at the safety perception at work. Safety perception is in this context defined as subjective belief of individual about the state of conditions that create protection of his/her integrity (physical, social, psychological etc.) against various negative consequences. The aim of the project is to explore the safety perception in three areas: a) psychological characteristics influencing safety perception (coping strategies, attitudes towards police and courts, belief in the just world and attitudes towards immigrants), b) safety perception/security at work (physical and psycho-social factors), c) methodological issues.

The solving of the submitted scientific project is supposing an analysis and comparison of an educational process in Slovakia during the existence of the First Slovak Republic and a totalitarian system during the period 1948 – 1953. In the center of attention is a school policy of governments of the First Slovak Republic and the Czechoslovak Republic (1948 – 1953 and activities of central government authorities dealing with educational issues. In this context is attention focused also on interpretations of school policies of government agencies and general ideological issues in the contemporary periodicals.  The submitted project is focused upon the influence of political parties – the Hlinka´ Slovak Populist Party (HSPP) and the Communist Party of Slovakia (CPS) and their ideologies upon the educational process. It analyses organizational structure of educational system. Attention is given to status and activities of teachers in the monitored periods and via application of Oral History is also aimed at recollections of pedagogues active in schools during years 1948 – 1953.

The aim of the project Places of Košice‘s Memory (people and history) is to fullfill a gap in the research of history of Košice. The Researchers shall examine the selected personalities (positive and negative), which significantly contributed to the image, status, development or social, political, cultural, artistic, scientific and spiritual environment of the city of Košice. These personalities have given to the town a specific character and they kept in the mind of the people of Košice, region and state departments associated with the Košice.

Name: Lingual-communication behaviour of Slovak youth in Croatia and in Serbia, in situational context of intra-ethnical utilization of spoken Slovak language

Anotation:

 

 

The main purpose of this project is to perform an analysis of present situation of lingual-communication behaviour of the Slovak youth in a situational context of intra-ethnical utilization of spoken Slovak language. There will be analysed two language groups: the Slovak youth living in Croatia and the Slovak youth living in Serbia, the ethnic minority. Besides of theoretical analysis of lingual communication behaviour of chosen lingual communities, there will be
applied a combined empirical research (application of a quantitative and qualitative approach) with utilization of socio-linguistic analysis. In order to achieve complementary results, there will be taken into consideration sociological, socio-psychological and ethnological aspects of given problems. The result should be a view on spoken Slovak language in situational and context conditions with regard to intra-ethnical communication of both lingual Slovak youth groups.

The main aim of the project is to prepare with the help of existing and published materials but particular on the basis of further research a synthesis presenting the status and development of the Ukrainian minority in Slovakia in the conditions of a totalitarian system in the period 1948-1989. In direct connection with some already published works about the history of Rusyn and Ukrainian minority during the interwar Czechoslovakia and the first Slovak Republic we would like to accomplish some historical reconstruction of economic, social, political and
cultural development of the Ukrainian minority during socialist regime, during the implementation of the Marxist minority policy and its specific scenarios.

The main aim of the project is to analyze development of national relations between years 2004 -2016, this analyses will consist of following: development of national relations, strategy of national politics, goals and aim of political parties and its dependence of ethnic identity, demographic development of national minorities at the beginning of 21st century, cooperation of European and Slovak politics, perception of history of national minorities, examination of historical memory with the emphasis on following relations slovak-hungarian, ruthenian-ukrainian, majorities - minorities etc.

UrbanHist´s overall aim is to portray the Europeanisation of urban historiography. The exchange of theories and their respective schools, methods and objects of study, and relevant criticism shall contribute to raise the common standards of scientific quality in the historiography of 20th century European urbanism. This exchange is based on the international character of the doctoral programme, with the cooperation of the four different universities and several collaborating academic and non-academic partner organisations.The admission rules of the joint doctoral programme are meant to encourage a diversity of PhD candidates, while the multiplicity of countries under study will be a basic tenet in the information given about the programme as well as in candidate selection criteria. Moreover, our joint European Doctorate Programme will be concerned with unexplored territory along with in-depth comparative studies of local processes. The structure of the joint doctoral programme is appropriate for this kind of approach. The programme will be developed in English, but will also take advantage of the growing number of people who are fluent in more than one language and the growth of passive multilingualism for a richer exchange between PhD candidates and professors, thus contributing to the Europeanisation of communication.

Name: Information provision and implementation of innovative approaches to cross-border cooperation between Slovakia and Ukraine

The project aims is to collect and analyze quality, reliable and complete information on the forms, methods and results of operations of the Barents Euro -Arctic Council and the Regional Council and its application for the decision-makers in Slovakia and Ukraine, using practical experience and it application in order increasing the efficiency of cross- border cooperation between regions of the neighboring countries on the one hand and also Carpathian region as a whole. The project outcome: Cross-border information flow improved. The project outputs: 1 ) Research of political, legal, economic, financial , institutional backgrounds of the North European international institutions - the Barents Euro- Arctic Council and the Barenth Regional Council. 2 ) Learning from the activity and the practices of Norwegian- Russian and Slovak- Ukrainian border cooperation actors. 3)Preparation of practical recommendations for state and local governments, civil society in Slovakia and Ukraine on the effective implementation / application of the experience gained from the Barents Euro- Arctic Council and the Barenth Regional Council to intensify cross-border cooperation between border regions of these countries, in particular, and in the cross-border region of the Carpathians, in general.
