The first common online kick-off meeting of the international working group took place on Monday, 8 February 2021 with the participation of 22 experts from Ukraine, Slovakia and Norway who have extensive experience in the field of social and green entrepreneurship.
The meeting was organized by the Centre of Social and Psychological Sciences of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, the main partner responsible for the implementation of project activities aimed at promoting innovative social and green cities.

The main topic of the kick-off meeting was for the national working groups to become familiar with the tasks for the future period. After the project was introduced by Ing. Anna Kalistová (CSPS SAS), the first part of the meeting was chaired by Dr. Zuzana Polačková (CSPS SAV). In this part, individual experts had the opportunity to introduce themselves, their activities and meet their “new” colleagues from other cities, with whom they are to work in the coming months. The representatives of the cities presented the activities implemented in the cities of Košice, Uzhhorod, Kharkiv and Alta/Kirkenes in the field of social and green business thus far. In the second part of the meeting, Dr. Richard Filčák (CSPS SAS) presented specific tasks, outputs, as well as a detailed schedule of activities 2 and 3 of the project.

One of the first tasks of the national working groups will be to identify best practice examples implemented in Slovakia, Ukraine and Norway (and possibly in other European countries), which will be evaluated as the best examples for participating cities after common analyses and discussions. This part of the task will result in the creation of a publication with 10 best examples of social and green business, which can be implemented in practice with the involvement of local governments, mainly at the local level.
